CrowdStrike EDR, in plain terms.

What is Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)?

EDR watches what happens on each device. It spots suspect behaviour, gives you the context to look into it and lets you act, for example by isolating the device. Unlike old antivirus, it follows how the attacker behaves and the whole chain of events around an incident.

What is the difference between Falcon Prevent and Falcon Insight XDR?

Falcon Prevent is AI-powered next-generation antivirus. It stops threats on the device. Falcon Insight XDR is CrowdStrike's EDR. It adds a constant stream of device data, deeper detection, hunting, investigation and response.

What is the difference between EDR and Falcon Complete?

EDR is the tool. Falcon Complete is CrowdStrike's 24×7 managed detection and response service. Its team runs the tool for you and takes the response and clean-up steps you have approved.

Does CrowdStrike support Windows, macOS and Linux?

Yes. Falcon supports modern Windows, macOS and Linux. The exact systems and features depend on the sensor and your subscription.
